Thanks to Michelle of See Michelle Read, I finally watched The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore, an animated short up for an Oscar today. Let me tell you, if you are a bibliophile, it will be hard not to love this little gem. I may have teared up a bit at the end.
The short is up on full on youtube, although I don’t know for how long. If you have 15 minutes to sit down and watch it, I highly recommend you do.
I loved this short!! I watched the whole thing… how could I not?
I know nothing of the other shorts that are also nominated, but I hope this one wins.
Thanks so much for sharing! 🙂
Ha, that’s exactly what I was saying to someone else earlier! 🙂 I want it to win just because it’s book related. I am so biased.
I remember watching this before but thanks for reminding me to watch it again. Love the screen shots that you captured.
Thanks. I’m very happily tickled that it won the Oscar!
I’m so glad you posted this! I honestly hadn’t heard of it before yesterday, but after watching now I am so happy that it won the Oscar. It was charming and lovely, and I even nearly teared up at the end. Perfect for any bibliophile!
Yes, exactly. 🙂 Glad you watched and liked it!
Oh yay! So glad it won!! 😀
Yes. 🙂 It was fun to watch it win live, because on twitter all the book peeps in my stream were very happy.
Oh I saw the video not so long ago on another blog. It really is adorable, and kind of sad in the end. 🙂
Sad but also comforting, no? A legacy.
